A member of ambulance staff has received a special award for taking part in a West Norfolk charity challenge in memory of a former colleague.
Aimee Jones received a CEO Commendation from the East of England Ambulance Service for rallying her team to organise a bike ride in memory of much-loved colleague Nick Lee – raising vital charity funds in the process.
The team cycled more than 100 miles in challenging weather, starting in King’s Lynn and touring Hunstanton, Fakenham, Swaffham, Downham Market and Wisbech.
She was one of a number of people honoured at a special ceremony called The Stars Of EEAST.
Trust chief executive Tom Abell said: “The awards recognise the incredible service our staff and volunteers provide to patients and their communities throughout the region.
“On the night we heard so many stories of incredible bravery and selflessness in the special recognition awards and tireless dedication in our long service awards.
“Our people consistently rise to the challenges they face and for that I would like to say a huge thank you.”
