Students at the Duke of Lancaster School in Fakenham have welcomed bestselling children’s author Sam Copeland for a special visit focused on books, storytelling and creativity.
The author, whose books include the popular Charlie Changes Into a Chicken series, spoke to pupils about his journey to becoming a writer, where ideas for stories come from and the process of turning those ideas into books.
Staff at the specialist school said the visit gave students an opportunity to meet the person behind the stories and learn more about the imagination, determination and work involved in becoming a published author.
The visit formed part of a wider programme of activities for students, which also included a theatre workshop and a drugs awareness session.
School staff said the different sessions provided opportunities for pupils to develop creativity, confidence and awareness while learning from visiting professionals.
