New grants are available in West Norfolk for projects that build communities or improve lives.
The borough council’s Small Grants Scheme is available to help get a project off the ground or support something that is already happening.
Sam Sandell, the borough councillor responsible for people and communities, said: “If you have a good idea and you can show how your idea will benefit the community in which you live, please come forward – we’d love to hear from you!”
Projects have to show they can do one of the things below:
Improved understanding of different people and cultures in our local community
Increased involvement from people who face barriers to participation in community life
Greater use of community buildings or outdoor community spaces particularly in rural areas
Healthier and safer lifestyles for the whole community
Increased participation in arts and cultural activities which are accessible to the whole community
Cllr Sandell added: “There’s a huge scope to the activities we can support, from local history to multi-cultural projects, from supporting local clubs by buying or refurbishing equipment to starting completely new ones. We can help with education projects or learning a new skill and urban or rural projects.
“This is all about supporting local people who have ideas about making where they live a better place for everyone. We can help you do that.”
Applications close on 28 February at noon. To find out more about eligibility and how to apply, visit https://www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/smallgrants.
