A total of ÂŁ5850 is on its way to the Norfolk Hospice after its very first Christmas Tree Recycling scheme.
Staff and volunteers from the West Norfolk-based charity collected over 450 trees across West and North Norfolk.
They were then chopped into wood chips, and some were used at Belmont Nurseries in Terrington St Clement for their biomass boiler.
Lyndsay Carter, the hospice’s chief executive, said: “We are thrilled with the success of our first ever Christmas Tree Recycling scheme. We would like to thank all the local businesses, groups, volunteers and staff for all of their hard work and who ensured the success of the collection and recycling scheme. The money raised will make a big difference to local patients and their families at the most difficult of times.”
