James Wild MP for North West Norfolk completed the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon in under four hours and raised ÂŁ5,673 in sponsorship for three local charities.
He finished the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours 36 minutes and 13 seconds and was one of the 35,833 finishers in the 41st London Marathon. This marathon took place 889 days after the last race was run due to postponements caused by Covid.
Commenting after the race James said:
“It was a special experience to be part of the London Marathon’s very welcome return after such a long gap. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who sponsored me to raise valuable funds for 3 fantastic local charities. Having that great support helped spur me on to complete the course.”
James raised £2,189 for Little Discoverers, £1,805 for Purfleet Trust, and £1679 for West Norfolk Carers. The amounts include gift aid. Donations can still be made at https://jameswild.org.uk/news/london-marathon
