Home Whats On In West Norfolk? The Comedy of Errors

The Comedy of Errors

One of Shakespeare’s early Comedies, ‘The Comedy of Errors’ is a fast-paced farce exploring mistaken identities and relations lost and found.

This production was captured by digitaltheatre.com live at the Clapham Community Project. It was devised specifically for schools and families by the Royal Shakespeare Company in association with critically acclaimed theatre company called ‘Told by an Idiot’! Directed by Paul Hunter, it features a cast made up from the RSC’s ensemble and uses a pared down script, live music and physical comedy to convey the story. It had great reviews in the theatres see below:

‘Those who say Shakespeare is too difficult for children should hang their heads in shame.  DAILY TELEGRAPH

‘Thé nine and ten year olds were enchanted’. WHATS ON STAGE.

‘I doubt you could see it without feeling Shakespeare was your contemporary, whether you are nine or 99!’.  THE GUARDIAN.

This play started in the Courtyard Theatre R.S.C and transferred to the Armory Theatre – New York.
