8:00AM - 6:00PM

Location

College of West Anglia

Description

The Kings Trust, Team Programme, is aimed at young people aged 16-25, that are not in full time employment, education, or training. This course will not only gain them a qualification in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills, it will also give them an opportunity to work with our staff to support them onto their next steps in life, which can include employment, training, apprenticeships, education, or volunteering.

This is a Monday- Friday, 9.30am-4:30pm course. It is completely free of charge; we work with The College of West Anglia to support those eligible with travel costs.

How Team works:

When you join the Team programme, you’ll be challenged to:

  • Take on your own group community project, making a positive difference to the place where you live
  • Have the chance to take part in a fun-filled residential trip
  • Get two weeks’ work experience in something you’re interested in
  • Develop your English, maths, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Can achieve a qualification

As part of the course, you will also spend some time developing your interview and CV skills to ensure your confidence is sky-high when taking the next step.

The programme is completely free and won’t affect Jobseeker’s Allowance / UC.

All the above includes a residential stay at an outdoor activity center, 2 weeks of work experience in the young people’s chosen industry, a week of community fundraising and a week of social action. Also included in the programme is various activities with outside organizations, and our own tailored sessions to help the young people develop employability/ independent living and resilience skills, as well as supporting the young people to move onto their next steps of life with confidence and competence.

If you feel you could support in our work experience weeks, or would benefit from our community fundraising challenge, or social action we would also love to hear from you as to how we can get involved

The link for the online form can also be found here- https://forms.office.com/e/uPdjQyjAfe We have had an unbelievable response since starting Teams in Norfolk.  Now, we are expecting and hoping for a similar situation in 2026 so I would recommend getting young people on the referral list sooner rather than later so we can get the ball rolling and guarantee their space on the course.
