Efforts to make sure everyone can have the chance to play football in West Norfolk has won this area a major award.
Alive King’s Lynn Community Football has won the Norfolk County FA’s Grassroots Positive Environment Award.
They did not realise they had been nominated and were surprised to be told they were getting the prestigious title.
Tommy Goode Head of Performance and Development, said “It is a great honour for our Alive Kings Lynn Community Football programme to be recognised by Norfolk FA in the Grassroots Football Awards as the most Positive Football Environment in Norfolk.
“The team have done some tremendous work making an inclusive programme across our pathways from First Touch Football for young children, Ability Counts Football supporting those with disabilities, to Walking Football for those who need to slow down but want to keep playing.
“This year has seen a focus on girls football which continues to grow as well as our usual Development and Elite football programmes. The team regularly review programme and under training to enhance their skills all of which contributes to an outstanding environment to play football. Thanks to all of the players and parents who play a huge role in the programmes ,and we hope everyone continues to enjoy their football with Alive KLCF.
“Alive King’s Lynn Community Football work hard to deliver fun engaging football sessions including First Touch Football for toddlers of 2 – 4 yrs, through to Walking Football sessions for those who still love the beautiful game. We also run Development and Elite squads for boys and girls who are passionate about the sport. To have won this award is a real accolade to all of our team, and cements our philosophy, which is to help develop all our players as well as the person in a positive way!”

The FA Community Awards were launched in the 2010-11 season to recognise and reward the people, clubs and leagues that deliver grassroots football in England.
