Have Your Say on King’s Lynn’s Future

Residents, community groups, businesses and organisations are being invited to help finalise an ambitious new masterplan that will guide regeneration, investment and opportunities in King’s Lynn over the next 20 years and beyond.

The plan sets out a long-term vision for the town and includes proposals for six key regeneration sites, alongside wider plans for the riverfront area. It has been refined following an earlier public consultation and discussions with local stakeholders, with the aim of creating a clear, community-backed vision for King’s Lynn’s future.

Working with design consultancy BDP, the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk has launched a second public consultation to gather further feedback before councillors are asked to formally adopt the plan.

The six locations identified for potential regeneration are:

  • Former Debenhams
  • St James Swimming Pool
  • Common Staithe Quay
  • Church Street
  • Port and Timber Yard area
  • West Lynn (former Del Monte and dredging sites)

The masterplan also incorporates regeneration opportunities already being explored, including the Southgates Regeneration Area, Baxter’s Plain and St George’s Guildhall.

In addition, proposals are included for future phases of riverfront regeneration, covering South Quay, King’s Staithe Square, Devil’s Alley, the Sommerfeld and Thomas Warehouse, and Boal Quay.

People can view the plans and submit comments online until 8 June at http://www.visionkingslynn.co.uk/have-your-say
