A total of fifteen new nurses are set to join a West Norfolk hospital after a successful recruitment day.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn held the event for registered and trainee nurses, plus those returning to the profession, to encourage them to join their team.
It was the third open day in the past four months which has now collectively resulted in 37 new nursing staff appointed into key roles across the hospital’s 33 wards and services.
Five healthcare assistants were recruited alongside the new nurses, with people also interested in other roles too.
Chief Nurse Pippa Street commented: “Our series of nurse recruitment events are getting better and better, proving a winning formula for registered and trainee nurses to spend a few hours here. They can listen to colleagues who will articulate just what it’s to be part of Team QEH as well as the learning and development opportunities and many other benefits that we can offer.
“It really is an exciting time to be part of our organisation. In October we opened our newly configured Emergency Department following a £2.7million investment to improve ambulance handovers, patient experience and provide modern facilities for clinical teams to deliver urgent care.
“Later this year we will open our new state-of-the-art Diagnostic Centre which will provide some much-needed additional imaging capacity which will in turn drive forward a reduction in waiting times for our outpatients.”
Meanwhile there are still chances to join the team. The hospital’s next Nurse Recruitment Open Day will take place on Saturday 6 April from 10am to 2pm.
If you would like to be interviewed on the day, please apply for a role or email email@example.com for more details.
There is also a recruitment event for people interested in a career in health and social care as well as catering, portering, and many other opportunities, at King’s Lynn Jobcentre 30 Broad St, King’s Lynn PE30 1DP on 24 January from 10am to noon.
