Hotspot Policing Cuts Crime Across Norfolk

A year-long programme of targeted patrols has helped reduce crime in key areas across Norfolk, according to Norfolk Constabulary.

Operation Focus identified 21 hotspot locations where crime and anti-social behaviour were most concentrated. Officers then carried out more than 14,000 hours of high-visibility patrols, focusing on peak times based on real-time data.

Police say the results have been significant, with 18 of the 21 areas seeing a drop in crime, contributing to an overall reduction of 14.5 per cent across those hotspot zones.

The initiative aimed to deter offending, reassure communities and respond quickly to emerging issues.

Officers say the success of the programme means its approach will now be incorporated into everyday neighbourhood policing, helping to maintain lower crime levels and improve public safety across the county.
