King’s Lynn Law Firm Named East of England’s Top Will Aid Fundraiser

A King’s Lynn law firm has been named the highest-donating Will Aid firm in the East of England after raising £5,475 for charity.

Hawkins Ryan Solicitors has supported the annual charity Will-writing campaign since 2012 and has now raised a total of £34,537.

Through the scheme, the firm offers clients the opportunity to have a basic Will professionally written in return for a donation to Will Aid rather than paying the usual legal fee.

The team’s latest fundraising efforts were recently recognised during a visit from representatives of Shelter, one of Will Aid’s partner charities, who met staff and explained how donations help support its work.

Elaine Oliver, of Hawkins Ryan Solicitors, said the firm was proud to have supported the campaign again and described the regional recognition as a reflection of the whole team’s efforts.

She said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to help people put their affairs in order while also raising funds for such important causes.

“This achievement reflects a real team effort, and to be recognised as the highest donating firm in the East makes it even more special.”

Will Aid has raised more than £26 million in donations since launching in 1988, with participating solicitors also helping generate millions of pounds in pledged charitable legacies.

The campaign runs each November and raises money for charities including Age UK, the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, the NSPCC and Shelter.
