King’s Lynn is getting ready to welcome thousands of runners for the Bespak GEAR 10K next weekend.
The popular 10km race will take place on Sunday 3 May, starting and finishing in Tuesday Market Place at 9.30am, with runners taking on a route through the town centre and along the River Ouse.
To ensure safety, a wide range of road closures, parking suspensions and traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the day.
- Closures around the start and finish area begin from 4.30am
- Additional route closures come into force from 8.30am
- Many roads will reopen by 1pm, with the town centre fully reopening by 4pm
Affected roads include key routes such as King Street, London Road, South Quay, Norfolk Street and Clenchwarton Road, along with many surrounding streets.
Organisers Run For All say the measures are necessary to protect runners, spectators and volunteers, and are urging residents and visitors to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.
The annual event is expected to draw thousands of participants and supporters, making it one of the biggest dates in King’s Lynn’s sporting calendar.
