King’s Lynn Stars finish Premiership season at Northampton

King’s Lynn Stars bring their 2026 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership campaign to a close at Northampton on Thursday evening.

The PSH Environmental Stars had been hoping for a crucial final-day showdown at the Shaleway, but Ipswich’s 48-42 victory at Leicester on Monday ended Lynn’s hopes of reaching the play-offs.

Sheffield then completed the final piece of the puzzle on Wednesday, beating Northampton at Owlerton to secure their own play-off place.

That leaves the Stars with pride at stake in their final meeting of the season.

Lynn have already tasted victory at Northampton this year, winning there in the KO Cup, although they suffered a 48-42 defeat on their first league visit. The Stars did take the aggregate point from that meeting after winning a Super Heat.

The reverse fixture at the Adrian Flux Arena finished all-square at 45-45, meaning there are three league points available for both sides in Thursday’s final Premiership fixture.

Both teams go into the meeting at full strength, with tapes up at 7.30pm.
