KING’S Lynn go into a vital pair of away matches as they look to repair recent home damage, starting at Sheffield on Thursday (7.30pm).
The PSH Environmental Stars have been short of fixtures on the road so far on 2026, but that is set to change as they make their first visit of the campaign to Owlerton.
They also race at Leicester, another side in the play-off equation, next Thursday plus they have a re-arranged trip to Northampton on their schedule at the end of the month.
It was the Foxes who inflicted more frustration on the Stars as they came away from the Adrian Flux Arena with a 45-45 draw on Monday, where inconsistency once again reared its head for Lynn.
They now look for a first league away win of the season with the trip to South Yorkshire, with the Tigers one place and two points above the Stars in the table, albeit having raced two fewer fixtures.
Sheffield are unbeaten at home but they did lose 49-41 at the Adrian Flux Arena, so the Stars’ first target is 42 points to take the aggregate point.
Whether there is a potential opening to take more remains to be seen, as Sheffield are not at full strength having suffered two injuries in recent weeks.
First the Tigers suffered the huge blow of No.1 Jack Holder crashing heavily in the Wroclaw GP, meaning he faces extensive time out with, amongst other injuries, a broken arm.
With all six Premiership clubs in action on Thursday, the Tigers’ only realistic option is to operate rider replacement at No.1.
They have also lost reserve Jye Etheridge for this fixture following a crash at Berwick last weekend, with a familiar face to Stars fans in Jake Mulford stepping in to guest.
Manager Rob Lyon said: “Dropping points at home does mean we’re going to need some results in our away matches.
“That’s definitely the case and really we knew that even before Monday, because of the home matches we lost to Belle Vue and Leicester.
“I do feel there are options coming up with tracks we haven’t been to at all this season. We’ve only been to Ipswich and Belle Vue so far in the league.
“Sheffield will obviously be tough, but we do have a chance to get something out of it, especially with the aggregate point being up for grabs.”
