The Wells lifeboat team have helped a fishing boat which ran aground..
The vessel was travelling from Brightlingsea to Grimsby when it got into difficulties in shallow water in Holkham Bay,
After RNLI volunteers headed to the scene, they found the boat on the beach near Wells Harbour and decided to leave it where it was until the tide rose as the crew members were safe.
Both the inshore and all-weather lifeboats returned to the scene a few hours later and towed the fishing vessel to Wells Outer Harbour.
Lifeboat Operations Manager, Chris Hardy, said: “We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist anyone who may be in danger from the sea. After assessing the situation, the decision to tow the fishing boat into port was the safest thing to do for the crew on board; I am happy with the outcome.”
