Could you ‘Make A Difference’ and volunteer to help a major West Norfolk charity?
That is the challenge from the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House which is looking for people to help in its eight busy charity shops spread across West Norfolk, North Norfolk and The Fens.
Volunteer numbers have remained low since the pandemic and the Hillington-based charity says it relies on retail volunteers to help it fund its income and support patients.
Rebecca Walls, Voluntary Services Manager at The Norfolk Hospice, said: “We are extremely grateful for our amazing retail volunteers who currently donate 500 hours of their time each week. Volunteering has many benefits, including learning new skills and meeting new people and we hope that this campaign will raise awareness in our local community of these benefits and help us to grow our team.
“Volunteers get to work with a great bunch of people, be part of a much loved local charity and make a difference to the lives of the people we care for and their families by helping our retail team raise a significant amount of money for the charity.”
“There are various roles that volunteers carry out, including sorting and pricing, preparing and tidying the items on sale, listing on eBay and till work.”
