Figures show over 200 new officers have joined Norfolk Police since September 2019, according to local MP James Wild.
He says it fits in with the Government drive to have 20,000 more police officers on the streets by March next year.
Mr Wild, who represents North West Norfolk, said the officers are more representative of the area they serve with 40 per cent of new recruits female, and a slight rise in the numbers of ethnic minorities which represent almost three per cent.
“Tackling crime and keeping our communities safe is a priority and I recently met Norfolk’s Chief Constable to talk about domestic abuse, delays in court cases, rolling up county lines, and rural crime. The successful recruitment means there are more police officers in Norfolk helping to pursue criminals, keep neighbours safe, and protect vulnerable people,” he said.
