Here at The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House, we know that a life-limiting illness doesn’t just affect the one person – it affects everyone around them too.
We offer support, care and advice to patients over the age of 18, their carers and families through all stages of their illness.
Hospice care is not just for people with cancer; we support people with a range of illnesses such as Dementia, Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), heart failure, kidney failure and Huntington’s disease. We have strong links to other support providers in the local area and can help to find the best support and care for you.
We support approximately 1,100 families in West Norfolk each year.
To find out how to access care please telephone the Hospice on 01485 601700.
Overview of our services

Our services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and complementary therapy. We use a range of approaches focussed on quality of life. Our symptom management groups include: breathlessness management, anxiety management, fatigue management and fitness.
Hospice at Home
Our Hospice at Home service supports those in the last weeks of life that have chosen to die at home. The team provides holistic care that supports both patients and their families. The service operates through the night to respond to unplanned care needs.
Family and Carer Support
Our Family and Carer Support team can help with a wide range of issues including financial advice, emotional support and advance care planning. Specialist Palliative Social Workers, our Chaplain, Counsellors and trained volunteers provide support to patients and families during illness and following bereavement. We also work with Nelson’s Journey who provide bereavement support to children up to the age of 17.
We can hardly believe that we have reached September, the end of the summer and the end of the butterfly installation already!
We really wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge and heartfelt thank you for the tremendous amount of support you have shown for this campaign. We are truly humbled.
After a fantastic few weeks, the installation has now come to a close.
If you purchased a butterfly you will be able to collect it from the hospice from Tuesday 20th September. Alternatively, for a charge of £10.00 we can post it out to you. An email or letter will be on it’s way to you detailing your options.
If you missed out on the release of the original butterfly sales but would still like one, we are pleased to share the news that Fransham Forge are now selling butterflies directly from their website for £30 each. £15 from the sale of each butterfly will be donated to The Norfolk Hospice.
*Please note that all orders are fulfilled by Fransham Forge. For any order queries, please contact the Forge directly.
There is also an exclusive range of limited edition Butterfly Meadow merchandise available via the Sandringham online shop, so please do take a look.
