An ambitious project to create a dedicated Adapted Sports Hub at Lynnsport is set to be launched in King’s Lynn next week.
Organisers say the hub will provide specialist equipment, inclusive training facilities and flexible activity spaces designed to support people of all ages and abilities taking part in adapted sports and physical activities.
The initiative is being developed through a partnership involving the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and a number of local organisations, including Little Miracles and Pelicans Hockey Club.
Supporters of the project say the aim is to improve opportunities for disabled people and those with additional needs to access sport, exercise and community activities in an inclusive environment.
The proposed hub would offer a range of facilities tailored to adapted sports, helping to remove barriers to participation while encouraging greater physical activity, wellbeing and social inclusion.
A launch event for the project will take place at St Nicholas’ Chapel next Thursday, where organisers are expected to outline their vision for the hub and discuss how local groups, clubs and partners can become involved.
Those behind the scheme hope the facility will become a centre for inclusive sport in West Norfolk, providing opportunities for more people to take part in recreational and competitive activities regardless of ability.
