A major upgrade to the playground at Memorial Fields in Downham Market is set to bring new and improved facilities for local families.
The project will see a range of modern play equipment installed, replacing older structures that have reached the end of their lifespan.
The improvements are being funded through a combination of sources, including £50,000 from the UK Government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund and £12,500 from the borough council’s play area budget.
Council officials say the new playground will create a safer, more accessible and inclusive space for children and visitors to enjoy.
Work is already under way, with the existing equipment being removed ahead of installation of the new features. During parts of the project, Memorial Fields will be temporarily closed, although the nearby Howdale play area will remain open.
The council says the investment reflects a wider commitment to improving local amenities and ensuring community spaces remain fit for the future.
