A nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn is up for a national award.
Sam Jude, the Feltwell Ward manager, has been shortlisted for the title Nurse of the Year at the National BAME Health and Care Awards which celebrate black, Asian and minority ethnic staff in health and social are.
He was recognised for his work with the British Indian Nurses Association and for supporting Indian nurses in the King’s Lynn area.
Sam said: “I am very honoured to be shortlisted for the award. The last couple of years have been challenging but despite the challenges it is great that all the efforts put into developing and promoting the work around equality, diversity and inclusion has been recognised.
“It has only been possible through the collaborative effort and teamwork at Team QEH and beyond. A special thank you to the British Indian Nurses Association for their invaluable support through the years.”
Sam will find out if he gets the title at an awards ceremony in London on June 9.
