A new project has been launched which will see young people across West Norfolk create a new piece of art.
The Meadow of Hope will see recycled bottles transformed into hundreds of flowers to form a meadow.
It aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, and highlight the damage caused by single-use plastics and littering.
The project is being organised by the West Norfolk Youth Advisory Board and Blackfield Creatives, and it will end up at the Vancouver Quarter Shopping Centre in King’s Lynn.
In a statement, young people from the board said: “We believe strongly about the environment. We want to make a change, so even if one person becomes more aware about recycling, it’s something we’re proud to have achieved. With our project, we want to tell the community that recycling is practically our future. If we’re careless and continue to litter, it will show in a few years’ time and impact the world around us – whether it may be animal extinction, pollution, or global warming.”
Over the coming months, workshops will be held for 11 to 19-year-olds who live or study in West Norfolk to take part and make their own flowers.
