I love to natter and love the wonderful world of radio! It’s a two-way thing though, so a huge thank you’s to listeners, your company – and the community.
I’ve been in radio for 20 years – radio is what I live and breathe – to do a job you love – it doesn’t feel like work, so I’m very grateful, seeing as the radio industry had a massive cull in redundancies and closures throughout the years.
I first started in radio sales. There are two divides in the world of radio. There’s sales – advertising – and programming, the presenting side. I then moved to sponsorship and promotions. A zombie impersonation for a Halloween promo, that opened the doors for me, to be a presenter on the radio! Can you believe it….it all started with a zombie groan! If you believe in your goals, not saying it’s easy – but believe… and dreams really can come true! My goal was to make the jump/the switch and move into programming. There shouldn’t be two divides, as both sectors work hand in hand and support each other. I’ve worked up in Chesterfield, Nottingham, down South, the Midlands, Rutland… even abroad in Muscat/Oman and Dubai. Working for Global, Bauer, Lincs FM group – Peak FM, Heart/Gem 106, Channel 4, Hi Fm, Merge 104.8, even KL.FM back in the day! It’s a great privilege and I’m extremely lucky to still be on air in West Norfolk on Radio West Norfolk.
I’m also a children’s book author and illustrator. Other hobbies include visiting fun and bizarre places, and EATING!!! Love food!
I love keeping you company on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday 12-4 pm we have our nitter natter Saturday chatter – topic/question for the day and on Sunday our Survey Says – guess the top answer!
