Sound Mirrors is a sound-based artwork that invites you to reflect on your own identity and the identity of place. On Thursday 12 October a large sound sculpture and projection will appear in Greyfriars Tower Gardens in King’s Lynn. The artworks have been co-created by young people from King’s Lynn with sound artist Oliver Payne and visual artist Francesca Cant. The sculpture uses sound mirrors – polished sheets of steel – to amplify the sound, creating a vibration in the metal that you can see and touch for yourself. The projection on the tower is inspired by the architecture of King’s Lynn and is a colourful backdrop for the sculpture where it will reflect and distort the artwork, creating a unique photo opportunity for everyone who visits. Oliver Payne has been commissioned to deliver this project…
