Thieves Target West Norfolk Cars

Police are hunting thieves who are targeting cars in the Downham Market area to take catalytic converters.

The first incident happened on the Retreat Estate on Saturday 11 February when thieves removed one from a Honda CR-V.

After being challenged by residents, there was an altercation and the suspects made off in a Mercedes car.

In a second incident between 7pm and 9.30pm on Friday 17 February, thieves targeted a Honda Jazz parked in the car park of a public house on Main Road, Welney and stole one.

PC James Haslam said: “We believe these incidents could be linked and that older Honda vehicles are being targeted.”

If you saw anything relating to these offences, or had a vehicle parked in the car park with dashcam that may have caught some footage, please contact PC James Haslam at Norfolk Constabulary on 101 or email James.haslam@norfolk.police.uk.
