Community groups have until August 1 to apply for money for their projects.
The cash comes from the Community Infrastructure Levy which has to be paid by developers in the borough.
Cash from it has previously been used for various schemes including a cycling, walking and running track at Pott Row, improvements to play areas and gyms, and the introduction or improvement of bus shelters.
