Local visible policing will continue in West Norfolk, according to Chief Constable Paul Sanford.
He says he wants officers to be more visible in their communities, find out about the issues affecting people and put measures in place to address them.
The Chief Constable has set up a Community Policing Team which will help local officers with issues that need this extra visibility and more work with the community.
They have already helped with things like patrols to keep particular areas safe including those popular at night and also crime hot-spots.
Across Norfolk, this has meant five stop-searches, eight opportunities to get information, nine new investigations and two arrests.
Chief Superintendent Dave Buckley for County Policing Command said: “We remain committed to dealing with the issues that are affecting our local communities and to make the people of Norfolk feel safe.
“It is vital that we are visible and that we reach out to our residents to understand their concerns and offer solutions as to how we can deal with the issues that really matter to them.”
