Over 100 Easter eggs have been donated to a West Norfolk food bank by local students.
The pupils at Smithdon High School in Hunstanton decided they wanted to help people who were less fortunate and donated the eggs to the St Edmund’s Church food bank.
“We have collected for Christmas over the last few years and so the charity is not unknown to the students, and now we are coming out of lockdown we have the opportunity to discuss doing more with them,” said school librarian Marie Taylor, who oversaw the project.
“The students get excited about receiving eggs, so the idea of others not being able to receive them is something they can associate with. Some donations made to the food bank have gone back to some of our own students, whose families use its services, so that also raises awareness of the issue.”
