More pupils can take up trampolining thanks to the support of a developer.
Downham Market Academy has received a £2000 grant to find crash mats, with the extra safety equipment meaning it can offer more sessions to pupils.
Head teacher Mark Eastwood said: “We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for this donation. We are now able to offer trampolining to all pupils in Key Stage 3 as well as those taking PE at GCSE level.
“At GCSE students have to be good at three sports and we can ensure they reach a high standard in trampolining, and that gives them a better chance of achieving a higher grade than if they were to choose a more mainstream sport.”
Amy Rowlands, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We are proud to be able to deliver this funding and help create a lasting legacy here at Downham Market Academy, helping the students to achieve their full potential in PE and gain qualifications that will help them in later life.”
