The Department of Health and Social Care has announced that further details on the process for the further eight new hospitals the government has committed to will be set out in the “coming weeks”. Â
The update on the timing of the new hospital’s programme was provided by the Health Minister in response to a parliamentary question by James Wild MP who is campaigning for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be one of the new schemes.
James said:Â
“Having campaigned for investment in QEH since I was elected, I look forward to more details on the next steps for the new hospital programme. QEH has a compelling case to be one of the new hospitals and growing support from the local community, councillors, press, and others will be important in backing the plans the Trust is developing.”
Â
James and the Trust’s Chairman and Chief Executive met with the Health Minister Edward Argar last month to review the need for investment in the hospital.
Answer:Â Health Minister Edward Argar MP
We are currently finalising the process and selection criteria for the additional eight schemes that will be part of our new hospital’s programme and plan to announce further detail in the coming weeks.
