Let’s give a Hug Day

On Monday 13th May is Let’s Give Hug Day when we surround the church with over 50 patchwork tops, giving the church its much needed hug! We will gather at 10.30 am ready for the hug at 11.00 am.

The event is the culmination of months of work by quilt and block makers from all over the UK. Prior to Monday 13th May an exhibition will be held in the church from Friday 10th to 12th Sunday May.

The exhibition will display over 50 highly colourful patchwork quilt tops made by people from all over the U.K. The exhibition is free. Any donations will help the Friends of St Andrew’s Church Little Massingham raise funds for the church roof as several years ago thieves stole the lead from it.

Later in the year Quilts 4 Care Leavers will add the backing, wadding and topstitching to the quilts. The completed quits called Hugs will then be given to young care leavers who leave the care system every year.
