Flower power at the Sandringham Flower Show

Once again the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk have added some colour to the Sandringham Flower Show.

Since 2013 staff from the borough council public open space grounds central team have designed displays, supplied plants and created floral beds at the Royal Marquee, around the bandstand, in the horticultural society marque and pedestrian entrance at St Mary Magdalene Church.

All the plants had been grown in the borough council nursery, looked after by two nursery staff, that grows 70,000 plants for our area every year.

Cllr Brian Long, Cabinet member for Corporate Services, said: “Thousands of people attend the annual flower show at the royal estate and our team do a fantastic job adding such beautiful displays to the show. Also, as none of the bedding is planted, our team are able to collect all the displays when the show has finished, return the flowers to the council nursery, and plant them elsewhere in the borough. Meaning even more people get to see them across west Norfolk.”
