The state-of-the-art new Wells lifeboat known as the Duke of Edinburgh arrives this weekend.
Â
The Shannon class vessel is due to arrive at The Quay at 5pm on Saturday October 8 accompanied by the towns’ current all-weather lifeboat Doris M Mann of Ampthill
Â
Celebrations will begin at 4pm with Blakeney Old Wild Rovers singing sea shanties on the quay.
Â
The new lifeboat then arrives and can be seen by locals and visitors before it moves to its new home at the lifeboat station, where it will be used for crew training in the weeks ahead.
Â
Although the new lifeboat station is not yet open to the public, the RNLI will release more details of when the public can see the boat in the days ahead.
